To arrive by plane you must take a flight to the Juan Santa María Airport in San José, and take a local flight to the Airport in the city of Puerto Jiménez. For the year 2023 a round trip local flight from San José to Puerto Jiménez can cost you 150 US dollars round trip in low season and in high season about 220 US dollars. From the Puerto Jiménez Airport, you might to come to Playa Blanca by local bus, asking the bus driver to leave you in Playa Blanca´s entrance, or by taxi or contacting us to pick you up.

You can take public transportation by bus from the Juan Santa María Airport in San José, taking a taxi to the San José "Blanco Lobo" bus station for an average price of 30 dollars, and take the bus that goes to Puerto Jiménez de Puntarenas , in 2023 a ticket on a road costs around 20 dollars. This bus will pass by the entrance of Playa Blanca, and you can ask the driver to leave you there to continue 700 meters to the beach.

You can take public transportation by bus from Paso Canoas, asking the driver to leave you at Ciudad Neily´s city and taking a bus from here to Puerto Jiménez. In this last bus, ask the driver to leave you in the entrance of Playa Blanca.

There are many car rental alternatives that offer vehicles to travel around Costa Rica, but we wholeheartedly recommend that if your plans are to go to wild places on an extensive tours of the southern zone of Costa Rica, consider renting a 4x4 vehicle. We recommend this company, but there are many very good ones, although the infrastructure of bridges and steps is very good, there are locations that must pass through small rivers and it is important to request a vehicle for this function in the rental car of your choice.
